Does Colorfix Work ?

This Product removes unwanted permanent hair color. Controlled usage allows color correction to specific areas. It's designed for full or slight color corrections.

Some find it really helpful for removing color, some aren't so sure. Below are some reviews so you can make your own mind up.

Does it Work ? Reviews

"yes!! it did work. I decied to dye my light blond bottled hair red because i thought it be cute. boy was i worng i got a purple red and after a few days the red faded and i hated it so i went out and brought colorfix for sallys and withtin 5 minutes i was a light blond again! it didnt return my hair to its natural color(im not even sure what that is anymore) but it did get all the red out! i didnt even use the whole bottle. "

"I've been coloring my hair for a long time because I wouldn't get the right color at the high-in hair salons and I would spend ridiculous amount of money. I dyed my hair natural black for almost two years and I thought it was time to have a new trendy color so I bought a color remover at a drug store it didn't help me much my hair was less dark but dark so no positive results I then dyed it dark-brown. I serched the web and found this excellent product in whiched I tested out first I didn't wanted negative results.
This product worked and it didn't damage my hair - one thing is that the smell after washing it was so bad that I had to keep it covered for a day. The results were "excellent". One thing that didn't go well was the hair dye that I used after the color remover because it changed my hair from light to dark and I was disappointed at my self but I will try it over because it worked....I'm happy and I love this product. I bought it at Sally's for $13.99 it was worth it. A tip for the "smell" I washed my hair with medium to cold water" It does help to take some of the smell away. "

"I bought this at a Sally's for $11.99 it is really only $12.99 without the card. It's easy to use and prepare. I had bleached the bottom underside of my hair dyed it with Jerome Russell Punky Colors ( a red shade ) a good while ago and it had lost the grab it had to the red, it wasn't as intense as the first couple times. I used One 'n Only and it did make the pink remants from the red semi-permanent color lighter and the bleach lighter as well. I still have some of the kit left so I'll use it again. I thought it was well worth the price."

"From the looks of previous reviews, most users have something to learn about chemical processing. I'm not a professional but have been experimenting with home haircolor since I was 12 & I've tried virtually every type of hair product available.
Being big on color changes (& also being disappointed with lousy drugstore haircolor results) I frequently changed my haircolor over the years.
Once you use a permanent haircolor on your natural hair, there is NO GOING BACK TO YOUR NATURAL COLOR. The haircolor remover simply removes the artificial pigment you dyed your hair with so that you can apply a different pigment to change the color (especially useful when you switch from dark hair to lighter colors). The change is permanent until your natural hair grows out again, but the haircolor remover allows you the freedom to change shades.
Having delicate hair from repeated chemical processing, this product did the job gently for me. After piling layers on top of layers of haircolor, the end result gets muddy. This is a great way to start over with a fresh canvas. I've used it twice & it leaves even my damaged hair in decent condition to recolor from scratch. "

"I dyed my hair black, went to a stylist and made it medium brown, tried this crap and my roots are canary, my middle is bright freaking red and the ends are dark red. "

"I have been doing my hair black for several years, and decided that I need a change. I tried using this product, and when I first washed it out it had taken a good amount of the color out of my hair, but the ends were still very dark. I did it a second time, but it didn't help that much. Over the course of the next day, it re-darkened considerably. This was much better than using bleach and did not damage my hair, but left it smelling like a dead fish. At least it did something, unlike some of the other things that I tired. "

"As other people have stated, this product probably won't get you your natural haircolor back. If you dyed your hair, it's changed the protiens permanently, so this only can do so much. I bought it because I have been dying my hair for several years. I wanted to go back to my natural blonde color, and there were several layers of dye on my hair. The red dyes in my hair were very persistant, and so I did this to even my hair all out.
It worked, but I ended up with apricot colored hair. I then had to bleach it, and now have light yellow bleached hair that I will have dyed back to normal blonde. Personally, I wouldn't buy this product again. It seemed like it worked okay, but it's semi expensive, and not worth the money. Go to a professional, or enlist the help of a cosmotologist friend if you want to fix your haircolor, don't use this stuff."

"Ok, Ive put all sorts of colors on my head, perm. semi perm. I thought it was hopeless to get a nice copper red again with all this dark color deposited. I asked people, they said... ohh it sounds like your hair is too porus. I did it anyway... it worked so freaking brilliantly!!!! Nothing ever works for me and my hair always falls out. But this was great, it lifted me to the lightest orange. Easy to recolor for me. I was mainly surprised before using it I had used a natural instincts dark color that is semi perm. It got it all out. GREAT. cheers!"
